Snow in Katy...Are you kidding?

At the beginning of the week, local forecasters started predicting the possibility of snow for Friday, December 4th. Since we've lived in Texas for 6 years now, we didn't get our hopes up. But surprise, God gave us snow. And not just a trace either. We probably got close to an inch here in town. And as many of you can imagine, it caused a few headaches with traffic and early dismissal for schools.

It was the first time the twins had seen snow. Evan was very excited and kept trying to grab flakes out of the air. Andrew liked walking on it, the crunching sound it made the next morning. Dan built a small snowman in our backyard and he and Josh had a snowball fight. It had been so long since Josh had needed gloves around here, I was hard pressed to find more than 1 glove and 1 mitten! He didn't seem to mind playing in the snow with bare hands initially, but he complained as his hands got too cold.

Unfortunately, most of the snow has melted today. And we'll be back up in the 60's in a few days. But it was very exciting and a blessing to have snow in Katy. :)
